Meter Maintenance Project

Kansas Gas Service is conducting routine maintenance on natural gas meters in the Johnson and Wyandotte County areas, starting the week of June 5, 2023. 

This maintenance project is not expected to disrupt customers’ natural gas service and typically only takes a few minutes to complete.

TruCheck is the contractor working for Kansas Gas Service on this project, which requires entering customers’ yards to access the natural gas meter.  

What Customers Need to Know:

• Technicians will drive vehicles with a TruCheck decal and carry photo identification badges that identify them as contract workers for Kansas Gas Service.
• ID will be shown upon request.
• No action is required by the customer. However, door hangers will be left at properties without clear access to the meter to schedule a follow-up appointment.
• Work will be performed Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Customers will be notified by letter when technicians are expected in their area.
