OVERLAND PARK, Kan. –August 26, 2019 – Kansas Gas Service is replacing natural gas distribution pipelines in Salina, Kansas. Construction areas are east of Ohio Street and north of Nottingham Street.

Kansas Gas Service is expecting work to be completed by November 1, weather permitting. Company officials do not anticipate any major interruption to traffic.

“This project is a part of our regularly scheduled maintenance plan designed to benefit our customers by allowing Kansas Gas Service to continue providing reliable natural gas service,” said Amber Oetting, regional manager of community relations for Kansas Gas Service. “It’s another way Kansas Gas Service can provide natural gas for a better tomorrow.”

Customers affected by these projects are being notified by Miller Pipeline, the contractor assisting Kansas Gas Service, or by door hanger left at their home or business. The contractors performing the work will carry photo identification badges that identify them as working on behalf of Kansas Gas Service.

Some construction projects may require natural gas service to be turned off for a minimal amount of time. Upon completion of work, a technician will need to enter the customer’s home to complete the restoration of service. If the customer is not home, a door hanger will be left with a number to call to request a service turn-on. If digging is required in the customer’s yard, workers will restore the yard to its original condition once work is complete.
