OVERLAND PARK, Kan. –April 17, 2019 – Kansas Gas Service will install automatic meter reading (AMR) devices on residential meters in Colony, Blue Mound, Moran, La Harpe, Gas, Piqua and Bronson, Kansas.
AMR devices increase efficiency and customer service by reducing the need for meter readers to access a customer’s property each month and reducing estimated bills due to the inability to access meters.
To complete the AMR installation, a technician will need access to each customer’s natural gas meter. The installation only takes a few minutes to complete and is not expected to result in any disruption of service to our customers. Customers should be aware that they may see a technician entering their yards to complete this installation.
Itron is the contractor assisting Kansas Gas Service on this project. The contractors performing the work will carry photo identification badges that identify them as a contract worker for Kansas Gas Service.
This project is expected to be completed in approximately two weeks, weather permitting. We do not anticipate any interruption to traffic.
